Detailed Damage Assessment
We cannot determine the extent of any rendering or plastering job until we have first dealt with the source of the damp or rot. Once this has been completed, we need to let the affected area dry out completely. Once this has been done, our experts can see just how much attention your wall needs.
Plastering
Plastering is easily damaged by damp conditions. Water leaches into the plaster, weakening its structural integrity. The drying out process can affect it further, making the plaster crystalise and become brittle and flaking. Our team will scrape away any damaged plaster, replacing it with a fresh mix, neatly skimmed to a smooth, flat finish.
Rendering
Render is essentially plaster for exterior walls. Whilst often hardier than its interior counterpart, it can still be damaged by untreated damp, mould, and rot. As with our plastering service, we will let it dry out naturally before removing any weakened render. Once this is done, we will replace it with a fresh, protective layer.
Plaster Replacement
In extreme circumstances, the plaster can be rotted away right to the brickwork. When this occurs, whole sections of plasterboard may need to be cut out to prevent further weakening of the wall. However large the plastering job might be, you can depend on Olympic Preservation Ltd to perform a fast and effective repair.
